17/7/07 - NEW CONTACT ADDRESS FOR SDS GOAL-O-METER

We have a new address for the administrators of the Shaymen Down South Goal-O-Meter scheme, and a revised application form for the Goal-O-Meter here. If you haven't already joined the scheme, please download the form, fill it in and post it off to the new address!

Application forms for membership of Shaymen Down South or subscription to the print fanzine are still available here.

19/6/07 - SDS GOAL-O-METER/SPONSOR OWT FOR 2007-08

We would like to formally welcome two new volunteers to the SDS team. Over the next few months, Martin Bishop and Jonathon Monaghan will be taking over the administration of the Goal-O-Meter as we look to maximise the potential of the SDS major fundraiser, which has somewhat underperformed to date. Whilst it would be unfair at this stage to lay down any specific targets we are confident that with Martin and Jonathon's help we will greatly improve on last season's total of £2,036. In the interim period, please continue to send any Goal-O-Meter applications to the SDS address, we will communicate with all sponsors when this changes.

Don't forget that we will still be running Sponsor Owt in 2007-08, so get your thinking caps on and come up with some interesting ways to raise money for Halifax Town!

19/6/07 - SDS FANZINE ISSUE 70 NEWS

SDS70 should have reached all current members earlier this month. For those who usually get their copy at matches, but still want to get a copy of the current issue, these are available by mail order for £1.50 including P&P from the usual SDS address. To see what you could be missing out on, check out the contents on the SDS Archive pages, available very soon!

Remember that Issue 70 is the last covered by memberships and subscriptions for 2006-07. To renew membership of SDS, apply for a new SDS membership or just subscribe to the fanzine, please print out our Membership Application Form (requires Adobe Reader). Many thanks for your continued support.

20/5/07 - SDS GOAL-O-METER/SPONSOR OWT FINAL PAYMENTS DUE

Thank you very much to all who supported our Goal-O-Meter or 'Sponsored Owt' this season. Final payments are now due, details of which should have been emailed to you. The goals total for the season stands at 66 and is made up as follows: Conference National 55, FA Cup 0, FA Trophy 11. If you wish to include the 21 County Cup goals in addition then please feel free to do so! Please make cheques payable to Shaymen Down South and post to the usual contact address. If you require confirmation of the amount owed for either Goal-O-Meter or Sponsor Owt, please email our editor.

13/4/07 - SDS FANZINE UPDATE and NEW MERCHANDISE

Many thanks to all who bought the fanzine last weekend - SDS69 sold out completely! If you missed out, then never fear, we have run off a limited reprint - different colour, same quality content! The fanzine will be on sale again at the Aldershot Town match tomorrow at the Shay, outside the South Stand Bar.

Also on sale will be the Shaymen Down South's new line in merchandise - Shaymen t-shirts available for the bargain price of £10. As the proud owner of a 'trial run' t-shirt I can safely say they are quality goods provided once again by our Designer, and well worth the price. Stocks are very limited so please get there early to avoid disappointment. The designs can be seen by clicking through to our merchandise page. In due course, we hope to be able to take orders for mail order delivery, but in the meantime please be patient and make sure you get yours tomorrow if you can! Thanks once again for your continued support for our efforts.

18/2/07 - SDS FANZINE NEWS

Due to the postponement of the home match with Northwich Victoria we were unable to sell the new fanzine as early as we had hoped, and sadly mail order sales were somewhat disappointing! Thanks, though, to all those who bought a copy at the Stafford match, where sales were excellent, mainly thanks to a very healthy away contingent. If you weren't at Marston Road and still want a copy, don't despair. Fanzines are still available by mail order for £1.20 including P&P. However, we do still hope to be able to have sellers available for Tuesday's match at home to Weymouth. This is dependent on our editor being able to make it up to Halifax from the Home Counties, so we will try and keep you informed!

The next issue (SDS69) of the fanzine is due out in early April and the deadline for submission of articles for inclusion is 31st March.

3/1/07 - GOAL-O-METER MID-SEASON PAYMENTS DUE

Many thanks to those who have continued to support our Goal-O-Meter this season. Now comes the hard bit! Payments for the first half of the season are now due and include goals scored up to and including December 23rd. The goals total to date stands at 34 and is made up as follows: Conference National x 31, FA Cup x 0, FA Trophy x 3. Please feel free to add in some of the County Cup goals if you want to!

The amount due is listed below for each per-goal amount sponsored.

£1.00 per goal=£34.00
£0.80 per goal=£27.20
£0.70 per goal=£23.80
£0.60 per goal=£20.40
£0.50 per goal=£17.00
£0.25 per goal=£8.50

Please make your cheque payable to Shaymen Down South and post to the address above. If you would prefer to pay by PayPal then please contact simon.denton@ntlworld.com to arrange payment.

14/10/06 - SDS FANZINE ISSUE 66 OUT

Issue 66 of the Shaymen Down South went on sale at the home game against Tamworth on 14th October 2006. If you didn't get your copy, there are still some available via mail order for £1.30 including P&P, or see Simon Denton at the home match with Burton next weekend. Previous issues can be purchased at the bargain price of 80p including P&P while stocks last!

The deadline for submission of articles for inclusion in issue 67 of the fanzine is 1st December.

1/8/06 - SHAREHOLDERS DOWN SOUTH?

Shaymen Down South have purchased one £500 Shaymen 500 membership under the name of 'Shaymen Down South'. Further details of the benefits this will provide to the SDS and its members will be in the fanzine out shortly, but having now got 500 shares in the name of Shaymen Down South, the question again arises do we want shares in return for the money that we hand over? The previous time we asked the membership this question there was no overwhelming point of view either way. As we understand it, we are currently the only supporters' organisation not currently seeking shares in return for monies raised. If you have any strong views either way then please let us know as soon as possible, in particular those who are due to receive shares at this Saturday's match dating back to the Victoria Theatre meeting in 2003, who may (or may not!) wish to donate some shares to a central SDS holding.

19/7/06 - GOAL-O-METER AND SPONSOR OWT

A gentle reminder to all our kind sponsors who joined either (or both!) last season's Goal-o-Meter and Sponsor Owt - SDS will be running both schemes again this season and as always your support will be very gratefully received. Every goal that Town score is sponsored (minimum 25p) or, if you find that just a bit on the dull side, you can think up your own sponsorship! Further details of the schemes and a link to last season's sponsors can be found here:

Goal-O-Meter --- Sponsor Owt

Last season we raised a grand total of £1,964 from Goal-O-Meter sponsorships and £142 from Sponsor Owt, but we need your help to beat those totals next season so please sign up for the schemes! You can join at any point during the season, but sponsorship forms should have been included in your latest copy of the fanzine. If you didn't receive one (or didn't buy the fanzine!) online forms will be available soon, write or email your details and sponsorship amounts to the usual addresses or see Simon Denton at any Town match.

18/7/06 - SDS FANZINE UPDATE

Issues 63 and 64 of the world-renowned Shaymen Down South fanzine are now available online in the SDS Archive.

Issue 65 will be on sale at the away match at Oxford on Saturday 12th August, but if you've already re-mortgaged your property for the admission price and extortion fee for 'saving' £2 by booking in advance, you can save up for another few days as the fanzine will also be on sale at the home game with Southport on Tuesday 15th August.

18/7/06 - CLOSE SEASON UPDATE AND MEMBERSHIP DETAILS

Issue 64 of the SDS fanzine has now sold out - thanks to all who purchased it via mail order - and the new Conference season is almost upon us. If you want to become a member of Shaymen Down South, renew your membership or just subscribe to the fanzine, now is the time!

If you received a copy of the latest fanzine, you should have received a membership form inside but if you didn't, don't fear. Simply write to the usual SDS address with a stamped addressed envelope and one will be mailed out to you. Alternatively, a PDF version should be available online soon. Cost remains at the value price of just £8.50 for the season, including postage, for 6 issues. Membership/fixtures cards will be sent out shortly to those who have already joined or renewed.
